SR1: Governmental Registered Names
Governments or relevant bodies may “activate” (i.e. register) domains from the Reserved Names list compiled in Pre-Sunrise. Activations must be procured through .ASIA Accredited Registrars.
Note that SR1 commences together with SR2a (however, SR1 will continue through Landrush).
 
 
SR2a: Early Bird Sunrise
Mark must be applied for before March 16, 2004 (SR2a Cut-O Date)
Mark must be issued and valid upon domain registration application
Applicant must have demonstrable usage of Mark (in the class if applicable) registered
Registrant must be owner, co-owner or assignee of Mark
Documentary evidence is not mandatorily required, but required upon request
 
SR2b: General Registered Marks
Mark must be applied for before December 6, 2006 (SR2b Cut-O Date)
Mark must be issued and valid upon domain registration application
Registrant must be owner, co-owner or assignee of Mark
Documentary evidence is not mandatorily required, but required upon request.
 
SR2c: Extended Protections
Mark must be eligible for SR2a or SR2b (application for domain in SR2a/b is not a
pre-requisite).
 
Domain Name Applied For may be constituted with Mark plus significant words from the class description in the Nice Classification system (http://www.wipo.int/classifications/nivilo/nice/)
 
E.g. Mark for “XYZ” in Nice Class 1: “Chemicals” may apply for “XYZChemicals.Asia”
 
SR3: Registered Entity Names
Domain Name Applied For must correspond with the Registered Entity Name
(i.e. company name / organization name)
 
The juristic entity must be registered on or before December 6, 2006 (SR3 Cut-O Date)
Documentary evidence (e.g. certificate of incorporation, etc.) is required and must be submitted
 
Submitted documents will be posted publicly (Note that SR3 begins together with SR2b & SR2c)

 
Landrush: Expected in February 2008.
During Landrush anybody can apply for .asia domains. There is no need of any documentation or to have the company name registered during this period. However, the domain allotment is subject to auction if there are more than one application for the same domain.
 
 
Open Registration: Expected in March 2008
Anybody can register the domain. It will be opened for public for real time registration.
